Paris Fashion Week in September
Amanda Borgfors Mészàros Mészáros has been acknowledged already before her graduation from Beckmans College of Design Stockholm. Her collections have been shown at Stockholm Fashion Week, in the competition Designers’ Nest at Copenhagen Fashion Week and at Paris Fashion Week last year. Her collection Global Nomad made it to the finals of Hong Kong-based Redress Design Award last autumn and was also selected for Ung Svensk Form 2018. In June she was one of five talents to be awarded the Bernadotte Art Award for her work. In September she’s off to Paris Fashion Week for the second time, now to show her graduation collection from Beckmans College of Design.
Quality above quantatity
Amanda Borgfors Mészaros work is based on crafts where quality is always superior to quantity. Hand sewing and hand embroidery are often mixed with machine sewing, and the material selection plays a crucial role. Material like vegetable tanned leather is often present as well as a newly-found favorite woven band, which she overlaps to create sculptural garments and thus greatly reduces waste in manufacturing.
