Digital Garden is a visual examination of physical and digital materiality using crafts as a method. In the form of a garden I create a place in which there is room for my visual desires.
A garden is a place for growing things, for beauty, calm and freedom. This world becomes a free zone for me as a designer, a place where I can involve myself totally in creating and studying the website as a medium. The garden becomes a website with a long vertical and horizontal scroll from which visitors can navigate between different sites. Different scrolling speeds create an illusion of depth, while an interactive piece of music gives off different sounds depending on its position. By working with contrasts and combinations of different materials like 3D graphics and clay, vector forms and embroidery as well as digital and physical aspects I create a visual tension. With crafts as my method, I shape ideas and inspiration to another form or materiality, and in this way my garden continues to grow.
