2nd year collection (2017)
The borderland, in between one category and another. With a focus on the experimental use and development of the material in this collection, I have explored what ambiguity means to me in relation to the gender binary and beyond. It’s been a conscious decision to work with social gender markers and their deconstruction in a subtle manner, both in the use of silhouette, the choice of materials and garment types. Questioning the very concept of borders doing so.
Material: Various qualities of silk, cotton and polyester treated with enamel and sculpture glue, burnout and smocking made by hand.
