"It all started with a pillow.

A pillow that opened my eyes to the typical Swedish craft that I, for such a long time, had rejected.

Heavily embellished cloth, bright colours, natural fabrics and thick embroidery.
This collection explores craft as cultural gift, inspired by Swedish folk costume and the historical use and meaning of colour and motif. These cloth-based ways to tell a story or show others where you belong, a way of expressing status and social codes, is something that is an inspiring contradiction to the typical Swedish minimalism that often shows itself in fashion.
Stitch is used as an experiment - how far you can stretch the concept of modern craft and still see the bond with the inspiration? How does the material choice influence the connection between old and new?
These techniques, skills and knowledge may be forgotten if we don't recognise, value and embrace them. Be proud. Dig where you stand and see the beauty and the power that lies within that."
