Yossi Lemel at Beckmans College of Design

10 Sep, 2009 | Sofia Hulting | 0 Comments

Two interesting exhibitions will open in Beckmans' Gallery on Friday 11 September.

Yossi Lemel, Israel's foremost graphic artist and poster designer has visited the college during the week and held a workshop with the final-year students in Advertising and Graphic Design. The result of the workshop, called World War III, will be shown together with a selection of Yossi Lemel's visually powerful political posters.

His hard-hitting and engaging posters often relate to the MIddle Eastern conflict and the Israeli/Palestine situation. His collaborations with Greenpeace and Amnesty are well-known, alongside a fastidious selection of corporate assignments. In a long-term project in progress of a more private nature, Yossi Lemel focuses on his father, a Holocaust survivor.

The exhibition will open on Friday at 4 p.m. in the presence of Yossi Lemel and the students. The exhibition will then be open 11 - 20 September, weekdays at 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., weekends at 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Brahegatan 10 in Stockholm.
