Anders Berggren, final-year student in Fashion, won Gallerian Fashion Award and SEK20,000 for his collection “Soft Power“ for H&M today. Three final-year students in Advertising and Graphic Design were at the same time awarded for the best advertising concept.

Today, the final-year students in Fashion and in Advertising and Graphic Design at Beckmans College of Design showed the result of ten weeks hard work. Twelve fashion students’ interpretations of the brands Whyred, Minimarket, Åhléns, House of Dagmar, Julian Red, H&M, Minimarket, Top Shop, Peak Performance, Indiska, Tiger of Sweden, Hunkydory, and Velour were shown on the catwalk in Gallerian. Five advertising concepts for Gallerian Fashion Award were also up on display.

The fashion jury consisted of Ann-Sofie Back, designer, Morgan Sundberg, designer, Kristian Rajnai, +46 and Lotta Lewenhaupt, journalist. The motivation of the jury reads: ”For the fashion wise most relevant collection which also points to a way forward for the brand”. Lotta Lewenhaupt, chairman of the jury, said at the price ceremony that they noticed at the very first entrance that this was something special. Anders Berggren explained that he had tried to visualize H&M’s customers  and wanted to design a collection for those who will shop at H&M in the future.

New this year was the category ”Best advertising concept” which was also rewarded within the scholarship Gallerian Fashion Award. Anton Östholm, Viktor Pyk, and Maria Fridman won for their ”Fashion shows in rush-hour traffic”. The jury consisted of Jacob Åström, Great Works, Anton Granström, art director Frankenstein, Ted Mellström, art director DDB, Klaudia Carp, art director Storåkers. The motivation of the jury reads: ”This advertisment concept meets all demands. It was creative, well carried through and very relevant. Both Beckmans College of Design and Gallerian were shown to advantage in a performance that seemed backwards on paper but which was experienced just right. Fashion for the people in rush-hour.”
