Students at Beckmans have also this year won several prizes in Kolla!, the annual competition for illustrators and graphic designers arranged by Svenska tecknare (the Association of Illustrators and Graphic Designers).

The competition consists of three main categories; graphic design, illustration and screenbased graphic design & illustration.

Lisa Granberg won gold for her movie poster Helvetica – Goes Hollywood, produced in a projects for the design agency Research and Development. The motivation of the jury reads: ”Look! At the top of Hollywood Hills! A cliché, quite informally, elevated to a graphic masterpiece. The best possible design by one of the new generation’s best designers.”

Anton Östholm, Viktor Pyk and Jenny Enequist, also in Advertising and graphic design 2, won silver for a poster and an event that initially took-off in a workshop with the London-based design group åbäke. The task was to arrange an event based on a hobby and make a matching poster in size A0, completely by hand. The event took place at IASPIS in March last year. See the poster and pictures from the workshop at www.distanceandconversation.com.

Rikard Heberling in Advertising and graphic design 1 won silver for the poster ”Where is Pepparkakeland” which he created together with Martin Kann for an integration project in school and SFI (Swedish for immigrants).

Finally, four students in Advertising and graphic design 3 won silver for their commercial for Swedish PEN which we’ve previously written about. The name of the film is Pen in the ass and was made by Mikael Sol, Igor Zimmermann, Elin Skogkvist, and Anna Söderberg. Watch the film here.

Winners and nominees will be exhibited at Svensk Form, Skeppsholmen, April 26-May 18.
