Students create interior design in new apartment area

13 Aug, 2012 | Åsa Schöldeen | 0 Comments

Pernilla Kohlberg, Dennis Graben and Amanda Karsberg, entering their third year at Beckman's Design Program, has worked with the buildingcompany Stockholmhem in the future living area Annedal outside Stockholm. In one of the apartments they have created an artistic interior design.

In the housing exhibit Annedal 2012th a variety of construction companies have let decorate various apartments. In one of them, a 95 sq.m. big apartment with four rooms, titled "The home as a meeting place" has Roy, Dennis and Amanda created a contemporary sociable home with furnishing and design on an artistic basis. They have been influenced by the address of Pippi Longstocking's street and created an interior with unconventional and flexible solutions that will encourage creativity. Here plants can hang from the ceiling and furniture undergo transformation. Recycling is also present in the material and used items has been brought to new life. Additionally, a flirt with the tropics and poetic elements.

The
interior is designed for an often neglected housing solution, namely the "inside housing". In this case, it is a single parent with a four year old child who rents out a room to a student. In short, a private room where a person without the possiblity to rent (or buy) her own apartments yet have a chance to a good living.

The new district Annedal is a long awaided starting point for new housing for hundreds of people, especially families with children. It is located between Mariehäll in Bromma and Sundbyberg, and about 2 000 new homes are going to be built until 2015. Do not miss a visit to the new district. It runs
August 16–26 and during the exhibition period buses runs to the area from Sundbybergs station.
