Beckmans College of Design in Bratislava

As an event during the Swedish EU-presidency, the final-year students in Fashion were invited by the Swedish Embassy in Bratislava during a couple of days in September.

During their stay, the students carried through a fashion show with their knitted collections which were originally shown during Fashion Week by Berns in January this year, and participated in an international exchange with the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (VŠVU).

The exchange consisted of a workshop together with textile design students at VŠVU and took place at IKEA in Bratislava. The students worked in mixed teams and their task was to create something new on the theme Change out of the products available at IKEA. The workshop began at noon with the students picking out whatever they needed from IKEA's selection of products and was finished six hours later with an exhibition of both concrete products and installations.
