Cut-up

By cutting up comparatively classical silhouettes and garments and rearranging the component parts, I have attempted to create a collection with sharp contrasts and unexpected combinations of materials. The typical male silhouette has been coupled with traditional feminine forms, and materials such as rough wool juxtaposed with transparent satin. The separate parts are held together with zippers, making them exchangeable and, thus, possible to vary. The garments gain a longer life but this also causes a shift in the fashion hierarchy, since they can be altered by the wearer even after they have left me, the designer.
