När naturen inte längre är naturlig, utan återskapad av oss män-
niskor, är kulturen det som har blivit naturligt, oregerligt, fritt. i mitt
examensarbete har jag undersökt olika möjligheter att återskapa
naturens klädedräkt, päls, och sökt sätt att kommunicera begrep-
pet och idén om päls. Päls är laddat med känslor av skydd, makt,
identitet, förtryck och struktur. Vad krävs för att uttrycka päls? Är det
volymen, värmen, strukturen, tyngden, känslan, eller färgen? Jag har
använt mig av satinsnören och ryamattateknik, digitalt tryckta idéer
och bilder av naturliga strukturer för att forma mina egna framtida
djurhudar. upprepade vikningar i tyget formar, hackar upp och bryter
dess naturlighet och flöde. Jag vill återskapa och styra en naturlig
struktur och göra den till kultur.

When nature is no longer natural but recreated by us humans, then
culture has become what is natural, ungovernable, free. in my degree
project i examine different possibilities of recreating the garb of
nature, fur, and seek ways of communicating the concept and idea of
fur. Fur is charged with feelings of protection, power, identity, repres-
sion and structure. What is needed to express fur? is it the volume,
the warmth, the texture, the weight, the feel or the colour? i have used
satin string and rug-knotting, digitally printed ideas and images of
natural structures to create my own future animal hides. repetitive
folding of the fabric shapes, slices and breaks up its naturalness and
flow. i want to recreate and steer a natural structure, turning it into
culture.
