A World that Can Live Forever

Today, around 80% of the coral reefs in the Caribbean and 50% in
the Pacific are already dead. If no changes are enacted quickly, more of the coral is likely to fade and die.

Together with the Beijer Institute and Svenskt Tenn, my class and I created ’A World that Can Live Forever,’ an exhibition based on coral reef research and artistic expression. The exhibition aimed to showcase the beauty of the coral reef while bringing attention to how much will be lost in the face of extinction.

For the exhibition, I designed and created six candles and burned them halfway to demonstrate the effects of global warming, one of the biggest threats to coral reefs. We need to act now.

To not only highlight the problem but also to call for action, I created an informative poster about what we can do in our everyday lives to stop global warming and slow the coral bleaching.
