Who decides what is "good" fashion and why do certain types of aesthetics indicate higher status than others? Playful aesthetics do not always equal play. There may be just as much severity in what appears to be banal as behind something expressed in black, minimalism and deconstruction. Through my work, I want to question taste and ruling ideals amongst both designers and consumers. I want to increase the status of colorful, humoristic aesthetics and open up the Swedish fashion scene to alternative expressions. Swedish fashion does not have to be synonymous with colorless minimalistic design; it can also come in glitter!
