From Beckmans College of Design to Dior in Paris

Last May, Amanda Blom showed her graduation collection from Beckmans, a collection that was acclaimed for its craftsmanship. The high quality of the collection led to six months paid internship at Dior in Paris.

Backstage at Paris Fashion Week

"I'm an intern at Womenswear Dior Couture where we work with both ready-to-wear and couture," says Amanda. During her internship she has also worked backstage for Dior during Paris Fashion Week in September.

"My experience of Paris Fashion Week is dual. On the one hand, it's extremely intense days before the show, but at the same time there are so many people involved that it actually facilitates work compared to my previous experiences," says Amanda who also states that her ability to structure the work is the most valuable skill that she learned at Beckmans.

"It has been very important here at Dior to know  how to fully utilize the available resources, and also how to organise your work to be as effective as possible," she says.

One more Beckmans' student to Dior

Amanda continues her internship until the end of March. In January she will be joined by another Beckmans' student, Sofia Hildebrand, who is studying her final year at the Fashion Programme. During the spring she will be an intern at Dior for 6 months.
